Ets Meaning Military - The Camp Carroll Area IV community celebrated the military service of the Korean Augmentation in the U.S. Army (KATUSA) during an End of Service Ceremony (ETS) March 12, 2019, at the Camp Carroll Multipurpose Theater, Waegwan, Republic of Korea. .
The ceremony honored 21 KATUSAs from the US Army Materiel Support Command - Korea, 2nd Infantry Division and 94th Military Police Squadron who completed their service safely and successfully.

"We (ROK-USA) were together to save our country," Lee said. "We are the strongest union in the world. As one, I believe we can overcome challenges and obstacles."
The KATUSA program is unique to the U.S. military in that the system within the ROK-U.S. The alliance allows ROK troops to serve in the US military chain of command.

U.S. Army Col. Eric L. Jackson, commander of U.S. Army Logistics Support Command - Korea, joined the celebration, sending his best wishes to one of KATUSA's graduates, Sgt. Lee, Sang Jun, who was the USAMSC-K Transportation Management Coordinator.
"Your service in the United States Armed Forces has played an important role. It demonstrates the unbreakable bond that unites our two nations," Jackson said. "I strongly encourage you to connect with KATUS alumni as many have important roles in society."
Lt. Col. Karen A. Baker, 498th Maintenance and Sustainment Squadron commander, began her speech to a standing ovation, speaking in Korean.
"In July 1950, the KATUSA program enabled rapid cooperation and coordination of US forces with South Korean forces on the Korean Peninsula. KATUSA provides a vital link between the US military and an understanding of the Korean language, culture and region," said Baker.
